The leadership of the LDPR was recognized by the signing of the Minsk agreements - Russian Foreign Ministry
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov rejected the accusations of OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier that by adopting a decree on the temporary recognition of LDPR documents, the Russian President recognized the leadership of the Donbass republics.

Lavrov stated this today at a press conference following negotiations with his Swedish counterpart Margot Wallström.
“I would like to explain to Mr. Zannier and everyone who laments the alleged violation of international law that the recognition of the leaders of the self-proclaimed republics was made with the signing of the Minsk agreements, which at one time were approved by consensus by a UN Security Council resolution. They are recognized as one of the parties to the conflict, and as such they are working on the implementation of the Minsk agreements,” Lavrov said.
He emphasized that in the absence of progress in the implementation of the Minsk agreements due to the fault of the Ukrainian authorities, the authorities of the republics have no right not to care about how to organize life in these territories.
“And we will help them in this in every possible way,” Lavrov said.
