The leadership of the Rada admitted that it does not want to see migrants in Ukraine
Ukraine should not comply request Social Democratic Party of Germany and host Middle Eastern migrants who are rushing to the EU across the Belarusian-Polish border.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada and member of the National Security and Defense Council Ruslan Stefanchuk, answering a question from journalists in parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He was asked whether the proposal on migrants was discussed at the National Security and Defense Council.
In response, it was said that all issues raised in the National Security and Defense Council are secret.
“We discussed a lot, including a large number of scenarios that could be applied by Ukraine. These proposals were discussed at a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, but given that I am a member of this council, and this information was discussed under the heading “secret”, I cannot disseminate it. But I can assure you that there are many such scenarios for each option that was studied by the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the speaker noted.
However, in his opinion, Ukraine should not allow migrants onto its territory.
“As for the proposal to take migrants to Ukraine, it was not discussed either in the National Security and Defense Council or at our other meetings with the country’s leaders. And my personal opinion is that Ukraine’s position regarding our providing housing to these individuals would hardly be correct,” Stefanchuk concluded.
Let us recall that earlier a Polish political scientist commented to “PolitNavigator” saidthat Ukraine will accept any number of migrants, but only after the European Union promises Kyiv sufficient “compensation.”
