Romania cut off Moldova’s electricity supply – Sandu attacked Russia
Moldova and Transnistria were left without electricity for an hour after a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine.
Chisinau was completely without power except for the government building. In the city, traffic lights were not working and trolleybuses were stopped. The police had prepared in advance for a long blackout and called on pedestrians and drivers to be especially careful in the evening. Kindergartens asked to pick up children early. Mobile communications stopped working, although the Internet remained. Electric generators were turned on at border checkpoints.
An hour later the light appeared, but Moldovan President Maia Sandu still managed to make an anti-Russian statement.
“Russia has left Moldova in the dark. Russian missiles are killing people, destroying residential areas and energy infrastructure. But the power supply can be restored. We will solve the technical problems and we will have light again. We cannot trust a regime that leaves us in darkness and cold, that deliberately kills people out of a simple desire to keep other peoples in poverty and humiliation. No matter how difficult it may be now, our only path, the future path of the Republic of Moldova, must remain in the direction of the free world,” Sandu wrote on the American social network.
Subscribers reminded the president that it was she who took Moldova out of the single energy system with Russia and purchases electricity from Romania at four times the price. Apparently, it was Bucharest that disconnected Moldova in order to balance its system: Ukraine also connected to European networks, and now its neighbors are suffering because of its problems. This already happened on November 15th.
“But there was no need to be together with Ukraine. Moldova in Transnistria has an excellent state district power station, which is called Moldavian. It was possible to obtain all the necessary electricity from it, that is, from itself, because no one in the world denies that Transnistria is Moldova. We need to think about the interests of our country, and not participate in geopolitical coalitions. Ukraine now benefits from the civil war in Moldova. Therefore, she happily helps Chisinau economically blockade Transnistria. Is a civil war in Moldova beneficial for Moldova?” wrote political scientist Alexander Nosovich in his TG channel.
Short-term problems also arose in Transnistria, but there were no hysterics there. An hour later, light appeared in Bendery, Tiraspol and other settlements in the region.
