Romania forces Moldova and Ukraine to ban the Moldovan language
Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, during a meeting with the head of the Ukrainian regime, Vladimir Zelensky at the Victoria Palace, asked him to “recognize the non-existence of the Moldovan language as soon as possible.”
He wrote about this on his social network page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I had a constructive conversation with President Zelensky. I expressed concern on behalf of Romania regarding the protection of the rights of persons belonging to the Romanian minority in Ukraine. In this regard, we repeated our legitimate request to the Ukrainian authorities to recognize the non-existence of the Moldovan language,” wrote Marcel Ciolacu.
The Prime Minister added that “Romania has provided consistent, multifaceted support to our neighbor throughout this period since the beginning of the Russian invasion, and we are ready to actively participate in the future process of reconstruction of Ukraine, which will generate concrete projects and prosperity for the citizens of both states.”
“Romania strongly supports the accession of Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, and I believe it is important that the decision to open accession negotiations for both states is made before the end of the year,” Ciolaku added.
The manic insistence with which Romanian politicians, from the country’s leaders to the opposition fringes, are forcing Moldova and Ukraine to renounce the Moldovan language and the right to the existence of a Moldovan identity is striking. And no less striking is the Mankurtist passion with which the Moldovan political, scientific and creative elite is ready to consign its own national identity to oblivion.
