Romania is bargaining with Kiev over Southern Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina – Ishchenko
Now is the opportune moment for Romania to satisfy its territorial claims to Southern Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina before Ukraine is completely defeated.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Moscow Speaks”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“For Ukraine, the issue of dragging Romania into the conflict is not so simple. Romania may find itself in difficult relations with Ukraine. Because it lays claim to part of the Ukrainian territories – Southern Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina. Romania has been distributing its passports there for a long time; this is its traditional policy. Now is the opportune moment.
Romania understands perfectly well that if it does not solve its territorial problems now, before the final defeat of Ukraine, it will be postponed forever.
Therefore, I think these negotiations (in Kyiv with four European leaders, including the President of Romania - ed..) concerned the problems of territorial and corresponding guarantees, what Ukraine will receive if it makes concessions to Romania in full - weapons, equipment, money, maybe Zelensky personally will receive something,” Ishchenko suggested.
