The Romanian government has approved a bill on the acquisition of three American HIMARS missile systems, the total cost of which is 1,5 billion euros, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The press service of the Romanian government informed about this.
“The bill was approved by the government in accordance with the previously adopted Program for Strengthening the Defense Capacity of the National Army,” the statement says.
The leadership of the Romanian Ministry of Defense decided to purchase American HIMARS missile systems, since they meet NATO standards.
Previously, the US State Department decided to sell HIMARS missile systems to Romania, which have been in service with the US Army since 2005. The same complexes were previously acquired by Singapore, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
