Romanians want to make money by supplying gas to Ukraine
The Romanian gas transportation company Transgaz has announced its desire to build a third network point in Ukraine, which will become a new branch of the gas pipeline from Gereesti in Romania to Seret on the border with Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by Profit.ro.
The total investment is estimated at 125 million euros, and the commissioning period is 7 years.
This could be seen as a search for alternatives to the Bulgaria-Romania-Hungary-Austria (BRUA) pipeline to export gas from the Black Sea fields.
The project is still at an early stage. Economic and technical calculations are planned to be completed next year.
Meanwhile, the government of Vladimir Groysman predicts a decrease in gas consumption in Ukraine by 5 billion cubic meters until 2022.
