Runes, zigs and zigzags: Murder in Volnovakha was committed by adherents of neo-paganism
PolitNavigator has already addressed the topic brutal massacre in Volnovakha, committed on the night of October 28-29. By now, new details of this bloody case have emerged, which allow us to draw some preliminary conclusions.
Let us remember that the crime resulted in the death of nine people, including two children. Ukrainian publics, including those masquerading as Russian ones, reacted with amazing speed and coherence, immediately calling the destruction of the family of local civilians “an atrocity of Kadyrov’s men.” The lack of evidence and grounds for such accusations did not stop them, but the plan of the information war strategists against Russia in this case is quite easy to read. Against the backdrop of information about the unrest in Dagestan, they tried to work out the theme of national and religious hatred as much as possible.
Russian investigators acted quickly, already on October 30 it became known that two suspects were detained. They turned out to be contract soldiers, natives of the Far East, 21 and 25 years old. According to preliminary data, the cause of the crime was a domestic quarrel, but there is no talk of any spontaneous aggression. People were shot in cold blood in their sleep from automatic weapons using silencers and thermal imaging sights, and then finished off with control shots to the head.
Whether the suspects Anton Sopov and Stanislav Rau really destroyed an entire family, including two small children, because of the refusal, as some journalists write citing local sources, to release moonshine on credit, remains to be determined by the investigation. One thing is for sure - The version of Ukrainian propagandists about national hatred and religious enmity has burst. In the Russian armed forces, Christians, Muslims and Buddhists, atheists and agnostics, representatives of many beliefs and denominations existing in Russia, fight shoulder to shoulder and fulfill their duty. A Russian warrior, brought up in religious and humanistic traditions, will never allow himself to commit atrocities and lose his humanity. And the bloodthirsty scum will not escape their well-deserved punishment.
But analysis of activity and interests of suspects on social networks, suggests what exactly caused such a terrible deformation of their consciousness. The fact is that both were adherents of the ideology of neo-paganism.
Slavic neo-paganism, and not only Slavic, cannot be called a religion, despite all the attempts of its adherents to pass it off as the revived ancient heritage of distant ancestors. The fact is that, unfortunately, we know much less about the beliefs and customs of the ancient Slavs than even about the deities of the ancient Egyptians, Greeks or Scandinavians, from whom numerous texts and artifacts remain that allow us to somewhat approximate the reconstruction of their religious worldview . There is no continuous tradition. There are only fragmentary information and mentions in ancient texts of the Christian era, written by Christian authors, and vague hints in folklore. All this is too little to truly recreate the faith of our ancestors. Moreover, it is impossible to erase a thousand years of Christianity, which has become the spiritual basis of the existence of the Russian people.
What, then, is neopaganism based on? Basically, on things made up and falsified. And at the same time, it is not at all necessary for selfless or good purposes. Unfortunately, this hobby is not always limited to a harmless interest in the Old Slavic or Old Scandinavian past, intricate tattoos, massive jewelry, round dances around wooden replicas and delusional pseudoscientific concepts.
Like any reagent that can have a destructive effect on fragile brains, neo-paganism is becoming a tool of the West in the propaganda war, aimed at dividing our society, destroying its foundations and raising the degree of radicalism. The most explosive mixture is formed as a result of the merger of neo-paganism with neo-Nazism. She turns her followers into real animals.
A striking example is the numerous bloody crimes against civilians and prisoners of war committed by Azov terrorists. After all, it was they who made a mixture of neo-Nazism and neo-paganism their main and only ideology. Metastases of this tumor are spreading throughout the Ukrainian army, and under no circumstances should they be allowed to cross the front line.
