The mouthpiece of Poland's conservatives criticizes Duda for laying wreaths on UPR figures
Portal Konserwatyzm published a critical article about the honoring by the Polish authorities of UPR figures who were situational allies of Warsaw in the fight against the Bolsheviks, but later turned into Hitler collaborators from the OUN-UPA, responsible for the “Volyn Massacre”.
“Never ask a woman about her age, a man about her salary, or the Petliuraites about what they did in 1939-45. The fixation of the historical propaganda of the Third Republic on attempts to discover some “good Ukrainians” always ends with the same thing - honoring Nazi collaborators who participated in anti-Polish actions,” the publication says, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The author recalls that even before Duda himself, his wife Agata in 2019 similarly caused bewilderment among Poles who came from the so-called. Kresov - now the territory of Western Ukraine - then she paid tribute in the necropolis erected in honor of the members of the Ukrainian Galician Army (who “killed Poles in 1918-19”), as well as “SS Galicia and other heroes of Ukraine.”
The publication lists in detail examples of biographies of Petliurites who subsequently collaborated with the intelligence services of Nazi Germany.
“And finally, the cherry on the cake is Alexander Petlyura, the brother of the self-proclaimed “chief ataman”... Under the German occupation, he headed the collaborationist newspaper “Volyn” in Rivne, associated with the Bandera-dominated Ukrainian Board of Trustees of the German Army Group.
“Today, liberated by the blood and labor of a German warrior from the terrible shackles of 23 years of Moscow-Jewish-Asian captivity, we, Ukrainians, with our foreheads raised proudly, turn to the new Europe, to the Europe that arose in the brilliant consciousness of the Great European - Adolf Hitler. We believe in such a Europe, we preach such a Europe, for 23 years now we have been dreaming of such a Europe, a sea of the most valuable Ukrainian blood has been shed for such a Europe!”
Damn, it's exactly the same as today. If only we could substitute Biden and Johnson instead of Hitler, and erase the mention of Jews for external use - even Vladimir Zelensky could have pronounced this Petlyura manifesto!” – the author is amazed.
He calls for questioning the image created by the authorities of “steadfast Polish allies, to whom monuments are erected in our country” - in fact, we are often talking about representatives of “Ukrainian Nazism” who are guilty of pogroms and human deaths.
“And to these traitors and murderers of Poles, Polish President Andrzej Duda just laid a wreath on his knees,” the author summarizes.
