The liberals' mouthpiece refuted Lukashenko's lies
The Russian Federation is carrying out “chemically pure coercion” of Belarus to integrate within the Union State.
Novaya Gazeta, which is considered one of the mouthpieces of opposition Russian liberals, writes about this.
It is noted that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has been demanding compensation from Russia for losses due to the tax maneuver for the second year.
“But Vladimir Putin has never said in public that Russia will compensate for the Belarusian losses. Assurances that the parties have agreed and Russia will pay Belarus $300 million a year come exclusively from Belarusian officials and Lukashenko himself,” the newspaper notes.
At the same time, the President of Belarus is indignant at Russia’s actions: “Is this normal? Is this a compulsion to integrate?”
“Well, yes, this is what it is,” writes the author of the publication, NG’s correspondent for Belarus, Irina Khalip. – I would even say a chemically pure compulsion towards integration. And it’s not just Vladimir Putin’s hints that the subsidy must be earned through integration.
Remember the recent statements by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak that instead of compensation for the tax maneuver, Russia can provide Belarusian oil refineries with a negative excise tax - a tax deduction that applies to Russian refineries. But for this it is necessary to unify tax legislation.
Here is one of the road maps that everyone has somehow forgotten about lately. In other words, everything that Belarus received last year for friendship and promises now requires moving forward, and the end point of that route is well known. Vladimir Putin remains silent for good reason. Deputy prime ministers and heads of state corporations, press secretaries and ministers, lower-ranking officials and experts speak for him. But Putin no longer needs to talk - he said everything before. Now we can limit ourselves to remarks about porridge on the water.”
At the same time, the publication draws attention, “the compulsion towards integration that Alexander Lukashenko speaks about does not include “little green men” and other dangerous paraphernalia.”
“This means there is a choice: either pay for oil and gas as much as the seller demands, or agree to the proposed conditions and fill local refineries to the roof with cheap oil,” the newspaper believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, due to the refusal of Russian oil, Lukashenko will face problems in the elections.
