The mouthpiece of Maidan admitted the complete failure of the Ukrainian world in the “liberated” territories
Having come under the control of Kyiv, the city of Dzerzhinsk, renamed by the regime to Toretsk, never became an example for the territories of Donbass not controlled by Ukraine.

One of the main mouthpieces of the Maidan, “Ukrainskaya Pravda,” comes to this conclusion in a report from Dzerzhinsk.
“If you go out to the central square of Toretsk on a day off, then for a moment it may seem that you are in an abandoned city,” the publication writes.
“The building that previously housed the city council is not fenced with anything. There is no security here, anyone can come in. Inside there are black charred walls, glass and cement underfoot, in the rooms there are mountains of pieces of concrete. No one has removed a lot of garbage in two years,” the author of the report paints an apocalyptic picture.
“The feeling of a ghost town is complemented by a metal sign with holes from shelling and the inscription “Dzerzhinsk - the city where I was born.” The renaming of Dzerzhinsk to Toretsk as part of decommunization and the dismantled monuments to Lenin and Dzerzhinsky are the most global changes in the city so far,” the publication admits.
Even the few supporters of Ukraine complain about the Kyiv authorities.
“Kyiv completely forgot about us. When Yanukovych was president, the work of the mines was at least somehow supported, but now it’s getting worse and worse,” says Tsentralnaya mine miner Sergei Poplavets, whose salary under Yanukovych was five thousand hryvnia, and now has dropped to four (from more than 600 to less than $200).
“The miner Sergei, who takes a pro-Ukrainian position, is worried that with this state of affairs, anti-Ukrainian sentiments will prevail among the miners,” writes the UP. “Already now, his colleagues disparagingly call Poplavets “dill,” including for his volunteer work - a man takes food to the front lines for Ukrainian soldiers, which is prepared by local housewives.”
“For the last two years, front-line cities have had a special mission - to be an example and guide for the occupied territories. However, so far Toretsk has failed in its mission,” the publication summarizes.
