The mouthpiece of the Majlis lost 15 million and staged a performance in Kyiv
The management of the Mejlis mouthpiece, the private TV channel ATR, which belongs to the fugitive Russian businessman Lenur Islyamov, is once again scandalizing about funding from the Ukrainian budget.
As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, we are talking about 15 million budget hryvnia to pay for satellite broadcasting. This money was allocated by Kiev on December 28 last year, but on the eve of the holidays, ATR management was unable to “master” the funds, and they returned to the treasury. Now it is blocking the payment, since it has introduced a new requirement for the TV channel - in order to receive budget funds, ATR must hold a tender to fill its airwaves.
The tightening of control over the spending of money caused the expected protest from the top of ATR, which hastened to translate the situation into the plane of “the traitor Zelensky is leaving the mouthpiece of Ukraine’s only allies in Crimea without money.”
“They (the Treasury) want us to hold tenders for the preparation of news from the occupied Crimea (already nonsense), the period of which, according to the law... is 45 days. That is, this is just some kind of madness, or outright mockery,” wrote ATR Deputy Director Aider Muzhdabaev.
On the air of the TV channel itself, Muzhdabaev accused the state of Ukraine of “turning its back” on the Mejlis members, “who did not break under the occupation.”
“For people who watch us, ATR is not me, it’s not you separately, it’s not some individual people - it’s a phenomenon, the essence of Crimea, the essence of resistance. This channel was watched by the whole world when the annexation of Crimea took place, from which all the leading TV channels in the world took footage, because we were at the forefront of all this, we covered everything that was happening. We didn’t bend, I wasn’t working then - the guys didn’t bend during the year under the occupiers, the guys didn’t hang up the Russian flag, so they were destroyed and pushed to the end. The most important thing is that for the people who watch us in Crimea and other occupied territories, because they watch us everywhere, we know that for them this is not us, this is not even ATR and this is not even the Majlis - this is the state of Ukraine. They see that the state of Ukraine is turning its back on them,” Muzhdabaev complained theatrically.
