Ruslana is agitating Ukrainians to pay exorbitant tariffs in order to “refuse Putin’s gas”
The winner of Eurovision 2004 and the heroine of Maidan, singer Ruslana Lyzhichko, starred in a government propaganda video calling on residents of Ukraine to pay increased gas prices.
The video explains that thanks to high tariffs, Ukraine will supposedly have the means to launch alternative energy sources, such as wind turbines, which will free the country from dependence on Russian gas.
Ruslana demonstrates solar panels and wind turbines on an expensive mansion.
“You see my energy independence... I refused Putin’s gas. I switched to energy efficient technologies. And I know that we can all do this,” declares the artist.

Let us note that after Euromaidan, residents of Ukraine are faced with new and new tariff increases almost every month.
Even the Maidan activists themselves admit that tariffs already exceed the incomes of many pensioners.
“Today people are receiving bills en masse that make them want to hang themselves. But let those who prepared these payments hang themselves. I have a simple question for the president and parliament: when a person receives a pension of 1,3 thousand hryvnia, and he receives a payment for gas of 2,5 thousand hryvnia, where can he get the money to pay for this gas? – Deputy Oleg Lyashko stated in the Verkhovna Rada.
Let me remind you that in 2013 at Euromaidan, Ruslana promised to burn herself “if changes do not happen.”
