Russophile Taichibekov will face a new trial in Kazakhstan. The prisoner's family asks for help
In the Pavlodar court on December 6, a new trial will begin against Russophile Ermek Taychibekov on charges of “insulting the honor and dignity” of a local judge.
The prisoner's family and associates appealed to the public with a request to provide them with financial assistance to pay for lawyers, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
On December 6, 7 and 8, the Pavlodar court will hold hearings on a new case against Taychibekov, previously convicted for his love for Russia and the desire to unite Russian and Kazakh lands, to seven years of strict regime on trumped-up and far-fetched charges.
“The other day, Ermek’s lawyer, Galym Nurpeisov, begins work on new charges,” the brother of the convicted man, Marlen Taychibekov, told PolitNavigator. – The trial will begin on December 6. The cost of the lawyer's services will be partially covered by associates and like-minded people, but in the near future the family will need to raise an additional at least 300 thousand rubles.
My son is a student. I myself am retired due to health reasons. My wife worked as a secretary at a company and has now been laid off. In addition, a 12-year-old nephew with diabetes remained in his care. Ermek and I’s father and mother died. Family savings are hardly enough to live for several months, having lost their main source of income, so it is not possible to pay for the services of lawyers.
We appeal to all those who sympathize with Ermek with a request to help our family in this difficult moment! Help raise funds to pay for lawyers! It is unknown which of us may need such help tomorrow.”
As previously рассказал To PolitNavigator, the lawyer of the Kazakh Russophile, Galym Nurpeisov, the Kazakh authorities started a new trial against Taychibekov in order to sentence him to the maximum term, so that the activist would not be able to return to public activities.
“They want to destroy Ermek! He is now charged with disseminating knowingly false information - article 274, and distributing pornographic materials - here we have article 311. The bottom line is this: allegedly, under the nickname Ermek Taychibekov, a video was distributed where a judge of the Pavlodar Specialized Criminal Court is engaged in oral sex with another man. And this happened either in 2018 or in 20819, and for the time being the case lay on the shelf...
He already has a sentence, now they are also starting this process, it will also be carried out in an accelerated manner, Ermek will be given five years, I think so, and taking into account the fact that he has already been given seven years, then according to the totality of the sentences, he will be given another three years . This will last for ten years.
And there, another criminal case was filed, sent to the National Security Committee (NSC) - for insulting Nazarbayev. Ermek once called him senile. And he could face up to five years in prison.
That is, two or three more years will be added to ten years. And here you are, twelve to thirteen years of strict regime. I believe that they just want to kill the guy,” the lawyer commented on the situation.
