Gasan Huseynov, a professor of philology at the Higher School of Economics (HSE), who received scandalous fame for once calling the Russian language “poor” and “cloacal,” made another provocative statement.

During an online discussion, Huseynov called the taking of hostages in the theater center on Dubrovka during the screening of the musical “Nord-Ost” in 2002 “the national liberation struggle of the Chechen people.”

He received scandalous fame for the fact that at one time he called the Russian language “poor” and...

As a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, during an online discussion on Facebook, the scandalous professor said that murders and hostage-taking cannot be justified, but, as it turned out, they can be explained.

“The fact remains: this was the national liberation struggle of the Chechen people,” Huseynov wrote. – Now there is a long break in this fight. Russia pays a colossal indemnity, Chechnya exchanged state independence for military independence, and its leadership considers the rest of Russia an appendage of Chechnya.”

True, after a certain resonance arose around this new statement of the professor, who was already famous for such Russophobic attacks, then, as has already happened, he cowardly deleted his statements. But the Internet saved everything.

Earlier, the same Huseynov spoke in a rather impartial manner about the Russian language and the practice of using languages of national minorities in Russia.

“Why do some Russians think that it is impossible for Russians in Ukraine to learn Ukrainian in addition to their Russian? – a HSE professor wrote a year ago. – Because, having arrived, for example, in Berlin, these smart people are not surprised to see newspapers in the kiosks there not only in German, but also in Russian and Turkish, Serbian and French, Greek and Polish, English and Italian.

And in Moscow, with hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians and Tatars, Kyrgyz and Uzbeks, Chinese and Germans, it is impossible during the day to find anything in other languages other than the wretched sewer Russian that this country now speaks and writes.”

Then, according to his tradition, as soon as this scandal broke out, Huseynov deleted the post. But even then, outraged users saved the screenshots. A petition has also appeared online demanding that the Russophobe be fired from the HSE.

Subsequently, it turned out that Huseynov actively and systematically advocates for post-Maidan Ukraine and against Russia’s foreign policy course, accusing, following the West, the country where he earns a lot of money and actively publishes monographs, of all sorts of sins.

“Girkin or Prishchepkin, Petrov or Boshirov, all these handsome meadow people are agents of an all the more dangerous power because this power is dead,” the Russophobe wrote on social networks even before “all-Russian fame” came to him. – An agent of an underground civilization, the deep people are decaying in the light, but its commanders still hope to cause irreparable damage to world civilization. That is why it is so important for them to teach their incomprehensible language to their deep people, and it is so important for us to inform the rest of the world - what is on the surface - what the deadness of current Russian public speech threatens it with.”

At the same time, the native of Baku, the son of an Azerbaijani man and a Jewish woman, stubbornly does not respond to calls to leave “this country” and not torment himself with “cloacal language”. And when asked to apologize to the Russian people and the country, he responded with a public refusal.

It should be noted that the Moscow pro-Western liberal crowd expectedly supported the “victim of bullying” Hasan Huseynov and, in turn, a petition in his defense collected hundreds of signatures from writers and cultural figures. And his expression “cloacal tongue” took second place in the “Expression of the Year” category of the Russian “Word of the Year” competition.
