The Russian army closes the cauldron around Artyomovsk – Kots
As a result of the battles for Soledar and Kleshcheevka, the forces of the Special Military Operation took Artyomovsk, occupied by a large group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, into a semi-cauldron.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots stated this on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We pulled very large enemy forces to the Artyomovsk direction. Now there are battles for the southern flank of these pincers, for the settlement of Kleshcheevka. It is located south of Artyomovsk, and now there are battles for every yard there. Assault units are gnawing away house after house, block after block.
A semi-cauldron is formed, with Soledar on the northern flank and Opytnoe and Kleshcheevka on the southern flank. And we come to the roads that lead from Artyomovsk to Konstantinovka, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk. We are not going out physically yet, we are controlling them with artillery. But this already complicates the logistics of the Ukrainian troops,” he said.
Alexander Kots emphasized that the cauldron around Artyomovsk could soon slam shut, and a large group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces would be surrounded.
“And as soon as we physically block these roads, it will already be a full-fledged cauldron, from which the exit is either into captivity or into a white bag. Or an attempt to break through through field roads. During such breakthroughs from Lisichansk they lost quite a lot of people and equipment.
And this, naturally, forces them to pull back some of their forces, use some of their reserves in order to prevent the lid of this cauldron from slamming shut,” the military correspondent added.
