The Russian diaspora in Central Asia is dying out
The Russian diaspora in Central Asian countries will shrink. This opinion was expressed today at a press conference in Moscow by the editor-in-chief of the journal “Problems of National Strategy” Azhdar Kurtov.

“The age composition of the Russian-speaking population is not in favor of Russia. Elderly people predominate, and young people leave for Russia. Old people will pass away, and this will give the ruling elites grounds to say: why are you worried, there are few of them,” Kurtov said.
According to him, for example, in Uzbekistan, the Russian-language press is still preserved, but the number of Russian language speakers is rapidly decreasing. “And this is what gave us reason to hope for the development of Uzbek-Russian relations,” Kurtov said.
The expert shared information from his Russian acquaintances in Central Asia who are trying to obtain Russian citizenship. According to them, representatives of the titular ethnic groups of Asia obtain citizenship from the Federal Migration Service more easily than Russians.
