“Russian Spring-2” will come with the re-awakening of Kharkov
Reaction of pro-Ukrainian forces in Kharkov to the desire of the mayor of the city Gennady Kernes to return legal toponymy in the city, is just an insignificant PR campaign for the upcoming local elections.
The former vice-mayor of the Ukrainian city of Ochakov, Gordey Belov, stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Look how many of these people there are. 150-200 people – that’s it, no more. How many came out for Victory Day on May 9 and “Immortal Regiment”? 700 thousand throughout Ukraine, these are just preliminary estimates. This is where the real balance of power lies. Now the question is: these 150 people went out and took a walk. This is understandable, a paid action, they are not even preparing for elections to the Verkhovna Rada, they are already preparing for elections to local councils. And this is one of the elements of propaganda,” he noted.
Journalist Alexander Chalenko, who left Kyiv in 2014, also added that in Kharkov in 2014 there were more pro-Russian protests than in Donetsk and Lugansk, but Kyiv managed to suppress this uprising there by force and meanness.
“Kharkov is a Russian city of two million, where 150 people came out. Kharkov in 2014, together with Odessa, there were more “orc” performances in Kharkov than in Donetsk and Lugansk. And they lost only because they trusted the city leadership, which deceived them, and because the SBU and those hired by the oligarchs, including Kolomoisky, shot and killed these people. That's all. And if the government weakens, there will be “Russian Spring 2” again,” he noted.
