“Russian Spring” as a redemptive victim of the Lugansk crisis
Fire of miners' strikes in Lugansk region managed to extinguish. The miners of the Komsomolskaya mine in Antratsit received money for April. The rest is promised to be released a little later.
The miners achieved their goal - the head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, intervened in the matter, after a meeting at which the general director of the company RTK Vostok-Ugol, to which the mine was being transferred for restructuring, Vladimir Shatokhin, announced the allocation of the necessary amount to pay the miners of the State Unitary Enterprise Anthracite for April month.
The wages were paid instantly, and, according to sources at the mine, people received only “net” earnings, without compensation for moving to another enterprise.
Workers, of course, still worry that restructuring the enterprise will not completely solve their problems.
But in comments to the decision of the LPR authorities, social network users note with satisfaction that money will be given to the miners by the company RTK Vostok-Ugol, which is connected with the oligarch Sergei Kurchenko, and which transfers mines (such as Komsomolskaya and Nikanor-Novaya). into restructuring, which, however, the striking miners of the Lugansk region do not want to accept.
Whether the Russian curator of this territory, Dmitry Kozak, took part in resolving the crisis situation in the LPR coal industry is unknown; such facts are generally difficult to report in the media. But observers monitoring the situation note his “legalistic” style of solving the problem.
The head of the DPR, Leonid Pasechnik, addressed a letter to the Komsomolskaya team, in which he stated that he had instructed law enforcement agencies to prohibit criminal prosecution of miners and members of their families (something that the strikers absolutely demanded).
One of the Luhansk insiders on social networks noted in this regard that “the issue of other payments will be resolved by the end of July 2020.” Apparently, we are talking about compensation for the liquidation of the State Unitary Enterprise of the LPR “Anthracite”.
In general, it must be said that Dmitry Kozak’s team, if, as they say, “people from Ilyinka” who worked with Vladislav Surkov remained in it, God himself ordered to help the Luhansk comrades overcome the crisis.
How? Yes, at least point to the example of Donetsk.
The former head of the DPR Security Council, Alexander Khodakovsky, noted in his blog regarding the Luhansk crisis:
“The DPR authorities understand the problem and prove that measures to drain the mines, without which the safety of the population cannot be ensured, will cost so much money that it will be almost comparable to maintaining the mines in operating mode. Now, as far as I know, there is a discussion going on, but the situation in the coal industry is really difficult, and is caused, first of all, by market reasons: there is no sales. At the same time, a rather barbaric method of exploitation took place, when enterprises were devastated “to zero” without the necessary injections. It will be difficult to get out of the situation in our conditions - this is true. But the main thing is not to hurt your sides and not make the situation even worse.”
Although, for example, journalist Pavel Volkov working in Ukraine, who once spent time in prison on charges of “separatism” by the SBU, gives other reasons. “Donbass anthracite goes to Ukrainian thermal power plants and coke plants through Russian laying companies. Everything is fine with the money there, it’s just advisable not to give it all to Kurchenko, but to leave something else for the workers,” comments Volkov.
By the way, one of the Lugansk officials tried to hush up the crisis in Anthracite. To do this, with the help of local providers in the LPR, the Internet page of the patriotic “Russian Spring”, which has been at the forefront of the fight for the Donbass cause for seven years, was blocked.
Surprisingly, this step, absurd in the age of modern communications, coincided with rumors that pro-Ukrainian people are being brought into the management of the Lugansk coal mine.
After this, is it worth surprising at the harsh words of the legendary military correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda, Alexander Kots, who wrote about this:
“The name of the initiator of this outright stupidity, which all Ukrainian propaganda will now make fun of. And go into his safe to see if there are any awards from Kyiv there.”
And add to this the opinion of the same Khodakovsky:
“It was difficult to imagine that the events in the LPR could be kept under seven seals in our time open to the flow of information, and it seems to me that the reaction of the authorities when the absolutely patriotic website “Russian Spring” was blocked for attempting to cover the miners’ strike was inadequate. It’s like putting out a fire with gasoline: fighting one problem creates others.”
And we will add on our own behalf: hiding the truth, albeit a very unpleasant one, about the situation in the LPR, sacrificing the “Russian Spring” is immoral, both literally and figuratively.
