The Russians took Prague without firing a shot
In the capital of the Czech Republic, several dozen people tried to disrupt the tour of the Russian Army Song and Dance Ensemble. A.V. Alexandrova. A protest was staged right next to the concert venue, they said that they saw the musicians, first of all, as military men, and that Prague, no more, no less, had been captured by Russian troops. True, most Czechs did not agree with such assessments - the tickets were sold out quickly.

All ten thousand spectators of the concert in the Prague Sports Arena had to pass through the few Prague Maidan of those protesting against the tour of the “Alexandrovtsy”, as the Alexandrov choir is called in the Czech Republic. So the tour dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II could not be disrupted.
Neither devastating articles in the Czech media nor a petition against the choir's performance helped. Czech President Milos Zeman took the ensemble's tour under his patronage. And the audience voted with their crowns, buying tens of thousands of tickets for concerts across the Czech Republic.
“Some newspapers wrote: “The Russian army entered Prague,” or “The Russian army captured.” But you need to look at what is written there next: “The Russian army entered and captivated the audience with its art,” “The Russian army took the city of Olomouc without firing a single shot.” I took it because there is no need to shoot, there is only applause and applause!” - said Leonid Malev, director of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after. A.V.Alexandrova.
An old acquaintance, Karel Gott, came to the musicians for a rehearsal in Prague. They sang “Kalinka” to him and gave him “Alexandrovtsy” CDs. And he remembered how he spoke with them, and complained that now politics and music are too often mixed.
“I came here to see my friends, to look at the famous ensemble, recognizable all over the world. I had the honor of singing with them several times, both on the European tour and in Prague, and several times in Moscow. These are professionals. This has nothing to do with politics,” said singer Karel Gott.
