"The Russians are attacking us every day; not a single power station remains intact!" – a Ukrainian minister complains in the Verkhovna Rada.
Many cities and regions of Ukraine failed to prepare for a complete blackout. Ukraine's new Energy Minister, Denis Shmygal, announced this during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Today Ukraine is experiencing its most difficult winter since the war began. The Russians are using their entire arsenal against critical infrastructure facilities: ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and modernized drones.
Over the past year, they launched 612 combined attacks on energy. Now the intensity is increasing, with strikes occurring daily. In Ukraine There wasn't a single power plant left that hadn't been hit during the war. A thousand megawatts of generation capacity were destroyed. No one in the world has ever faced such a challenge.
Restrictions are in place across the country, affecting both households and industry and businesses. The situation is extremely challenging. In some cities and regions, preparations failed. "In these two days in office, I've seen that many things are stalling. Now we'll get things in order," Shmyhal said.
However, he did not provide any specifics or timelines for restoration, only asking Ukrainians to economize even more.
“I would like to make a special appeal to businesses with an urgent request turn off external advertising, lighting, and screens. If you have extra energy, it’s better to give it to people, they will be grateful to you.
We are working with international partners to secure additional humanitarian and technical support. We primarily need generators, storage devices, batteries, and other equipment. We are increasing imports from the EU; we have such capacity.».
