Russian paratroopers in Crimea carried out a “purge of saboteurs”
The Russian military “destroyed” a group of conditional saboteurs who were planning a series of terrorist attacks at logistics warehouses of the Russian Armed Forces.
This is stated in a message from the press service of the Black Sea Fleet, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The exercises took place at the Opuk training ground in Crimea. A tactical airborne assault force of the Army Corps of the Black Sea Fleet landed from helicopters in the designated area and cleared it of saboteurs.
“Having landed and discovered a mock enemy, the servicemen attacked a group of saboteurs, and then cleared the identified caches of weapons and ammunition. During the exercise, tactical landing units practiced organizing the deployment of observation posts, searching and conducting combat operations against sabotage and reconnaissance groups, directing artillery and aviation to defeat a mock enemy using the Strelets reconnaissance, control and communications complex (KRUS) and providing medical assistance military personnel injured during the clash,” the statement says.
The objectives of a tactical airborne assault force are to quickly and covertly transfer by various means to a designated area. They are capable of moving along the front and into its depths using assigned transport and multi-purpose helicopters, with fire support from attack army aviation.
