Russia is preparing reserves that by August will be able to carry out strategic tasks after changing the format of the special operation in Ukraine.
A military expert, retired SBU Colonel Oleg Starikov stated this on the Politeka channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The expert was asked what the military point is in missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
“Military sense - they hit there, what is energy needed for? For factories, for the production of military and military equipment. You won’t, even if you assemble drones at home, as Vice Minister Fedorov said, you still need light. How will we work without electricity? No way. GPS stations are also powered by electricity, and so are factories.
The same thing - the railway, the transfer of troops. But there is no electricity. Convert to firewood? Steam locomotives, Civil War 1917-1921? Someone must throw coal or firewood there. You can’t transport tanks, one trailer is one tank, but try where you can get these trailers. Or the railway?

He emphasized that attacks on the energy sector are being carried out because “preparations are underway.”
“I was very alarmed when Putin and Shoigu said at the expanded board of the Russian Ministry of Defense that we were preparing for the final stage of the SVO. This means that either their, as they say, SVO will be completed, or they will transfer the SVO into combat operations.
The enemy will prepare its strategic reserves by the first half of the year. That is, he does not have strategic reserves now, but they will be prepared by the first half of the year. Then combat coordination will be carried out. This means that around the 8th month they will be preparing these strategic reserves for strategic operations.
