“The Russians are moving forward”: the Ukrainian Armed Forces general criticized Ukrainian strategists
The Russian Federation has enormous military-industrial potential and uses effective tactics to prevent serious human and technical losses.
Former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Ukraine, General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergei Krivonos, stated this on the YouTube channel “Skrypin UA”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russians learn quite quickly and make the right conclusions. Their first, let’s call it that, successes are a change in tactics regarding the behavior of their units in the Sumy and Chernigov regions. Where they created logistics corridors and set up roadblocks along these corridors, which they destroyed, shot at everything that could move and wherever they had the opportunity to get it (Ukrainian military equipment - ed.). Due to this, they quite simply left the territories of the Chernigov and Sumy regions when they retreated, preserving their people and their equipment.
Unfortunately, at that time, we did not have the strength and means to hit them constantly, since there was already a certain shortage of shells. Much worse than now,” estimates Krivonos.
He emphasized that under the artillery onslaught of the Russian Armed Forces in the south-eastern direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to rapidly retreat.
“They (Russian military personnel - ed.) effectively use their dominance in weapons and reconnaissance. They have more artillery and fire artillery effectively. They are gnawing out every piece of our land due to this shell fire. And where they receive resistance, they immediately begin to chew everything out with artillery pressure. They weed out and weed out - little by little they move forward,” notes the former Deputy Secretary of the Security Council.
“They use electronic warfare effectively. Over the past 20 years and on the eve of the war, the Russians have deeply modernized the old complexes - more than 35 items for different purposes. Due to this, they have such an advantage in electronic warfare. They clearly remembered the saying of old times that “without communication there is no control, without control there is no victory,” he says.
Krivonos is convinced that Ukraine’s potential in electronic defense was eliminated by the “inciting activities of the fifth column,” and now this industry needs to be revived from scratch, virtually on the fly. He also complained about the significant Russian air superiority.
“If the quantitative composition of the Russian air defense forces does not allow our drones to operate over their combat crews, this is all a matter of the fact that at one time we did not pay attention to our own army and directly forgot about it. Now we are learning, but again - time, money, people. There is not enough money for these funds. They (Western European partners - ed.) are not always willing to give forces and means, since they clearly monitor how we use them,” notes Krivonos.
As a clear example of why the West is in no hurry to supply weapons to Ukraine, he recalled how in 2015 in the area of the settlement. Debaltsevo NM DPR intercepted American-made artillery reconnaissance systems used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The same thing is happening now. And the fact that our warehouses in Balakleya fell into the hands of the Russians without being blown up, and the whole world saw it because the Russians promoted this video on YouTube, this did not work to our advantage. Therefore, at certain points, certain weapons that Western partners provide to us, they provide them reluctantly,” the general stated.
