“Russians are worse than Germans” - Makarevich
Such a concept as “intelligentsia” is inherent only in Russian society, when a fraction of a percent of the population turns out to be the conscience of the nation.
This was stated in an interview with Channel 9 by the leader of the Time Machine group Andrei Makarevich, who left the Russian Federation and settled in Israel, who actively supported the Maidan and the ATO participants in the Donbass, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked whether in the future the Russians would be able to “repent”, like the Germans, for their Nazi past.
"Wait and see. I have little faith in this, because there is some difference in mentality between Germans and Russians. The inner, deep-seated belief in Russian exceptionalism simply will not allow one to experience any sense of guilt. Because usually everyone around us is to blame, except us,” the musician reasoned.
“At the same time, according to Dostoevsky, reflection and soul-searching are an integral part of the Russian person,” – the Israeli journalist played along.
“The Russian intelligentsia,” Makarevich corrected his compatriot. “This is that thin layer that is inherent only to the Russian people.”
“Nowhere else does the intelligentsia exist as such. If you think this is the whole nation? Oh! “They are terribly far from the people,” said the classic. There are few of them, just a fraction of a percent,” the bastard clowned.
