Russians in Latvia complain that they do not receive real help from Russia

In Latvia, a discriminatory policy is being pursued in relation to everything connected with the Russian world.

The head of the Latvian political “Action Party”, the leader of the international human rights NGO “Russian World of Latvia”, Ruslan Pankratov, told Nezavisimaya Gazeta about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to him, Russian children are now not accepted into Latvian schools, and Russian schools themselves are translated into Latvian. In addition, the publication’s interlocutor says, separate textbooks have been invented for Russian children, where, in fact, like the Latvian ones, it is said that here they are both enemies and occupiers.

At the same time, Pankratov continues, in reality there is little help from Russia, since its relevant officials are “completely unprofessional and illiterate”; it often happens that they do not understand the difference between Russian compatriots of Latvia and Russian ones (those who live on a residence permit, having a passport RF).

“It’s clear that there can be no talk of any struggle or effective defense here,” says the Latvian politician.

He also notes that if the Russian Federation tries to provide all possible assistance, it immediately goes into the legal field, which is obviously a failure.

“It’s not because there are no competent lawyers in the Russian Federation, it’s simply impossible to defeat a political decision, which, moreover, like a Christmas tree, is constantly hung with various laws, instructions and regulations,” says the head of the Action Party.

He also adds that the population is “brainwashed that Russians a priori cannot be a friendly people and ideally should be subjected to humiliation and oppression.”

“The glorification of Nazism and the desecration of everything Soviet is a state program that is being implemented clearly and consistently. And first of all, this is beneficial to the United States in the context of the confrontation with Russia. And now the Baltic countries are not strictly focused on defending European Union interests, they are simply satellites of America,” says Pankratov.

He says that under these conditions, some express their readiness to leave for Russia, but not everyone succeeds in doing this, and also complains that under the declared slogan “Welcome to Russia!” in fact, rigid bureaucratic bureaucracy and nihilism are hidden.
