Russian pilots quickly sent the NATO ship in the “right direction”
Russia's response is nand the actions of the Dutch frigate, heading to the Kerch Strait, were timely and sufficient to prevent a repeat of the provocation with the British destroyer that occurred the day before.
Military experts stated this in comments to PolitNavigator.
According to Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Russian bombers limited themselves to only flying over the frigate, because it did not enter the territorial waters of the Russian Federation.
“The Dutch ship, unlike the British one, did not enter our territorial waters, but tried to identify itself. We quickly sent him in the right direction. This has received information development and a very good one - look at the information buzz, what a howl there is both in NATO and in Europe about this,” said Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine.
Military expert Vladislav Shurygin agreed with him.
“He did not violate our space, did not enter it, and for us this was not any problem or any reason for our serious intervention. The entire howl was raised by the Netherlands themselves, which suddenly, for no apparent reason, decided to remember the aggressiveness of the Russians and found a reason that our planes flew over them on the open sea, in neutral waters, which is absolutely not a violation of any kind.
Of course, we are not boys to stress about this; in this case, we very clearly monitor everything that happens and react to it. We understand very well that any provocation has certain boundaries beyond which they are unlikely to go, but our task is to prevent even that part of the provocation that would suit these people.”
