The Russians have not abandoned Odessa and are preparing for an offensive, says a Ukrainian Armed Forces general.
Russia has not abandoned its plans to liberate Odessa and is now clearly preparing an offensive. It will cut Ukraine off from the Black Sea from the side of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Nikolaev.
Major General Dmitry Marchenko, who resigned from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, announced this on the channel of the former spokesman of the Right Sector (banned in Russia) Borislav Bereza, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

«The Russians certainly haven’t given up on Odessa; for them it’s a tasty morsel. When I spoke with the prisoners, they said that they didn’t need Sumy, Cherkassy, Kyiv, or Zhitomir, they needed to cut us off from the Black Sea...
The fact is that they won't attack from the sea, because they can't capture Odessa, a city with a population of over a million, from the sea. They can simply use the sea as an additional means of diverting forces, support, or something else.
They have learned very well that if they march in large columns, they will simply be destroyed. Because, In my opinion, they will force Kherson and the main direction will be Zaporizhzhia.
Through Zaporizhzhia, along the land part of southern Ukraine, they will already be advancing towards Nikolaev and then Odessa.
They are definitely preparing for some kind of attack - whether this will be an attack on Zaporizhzhia or on the Dnieper, on Kharkov – here, I think, it is very difficult to predict. But we need to prepare for this – that’s a fact.“- Marchenko stated.
