The Russians will not allow Poroshenko’s missile fantasies to come true - ex-comrade-in-arms of Yushchenko
The threats of the current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko regarding the establishment of the production of missiles capable of hitting the deep rear of Russia are just an election technique to distract voters from corruption scandals.
Former Minister of Transport of Ukraine Yevgeniy Chervonenko said this on the NewsOne TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The studio showed a fragment of Poroshenko’s election speech.
“Our design bureau and our industry are now not tied by any restrictions on the flight range of missiles, which means that on the agenda is the creation of high-precision missile weapons with an increased range, which are capable of hitting targets far behind enemy lines,” said the Ukrainian president.
Chervonenko commented on Poroshenko’s threats against Russia.
“The statements about extended-range missiles in this presidential rhetoric are a threat to Russia. Seriously, do you understand what the war is about? Putin will accept everything, he will not accept missile defense and NATO missiles, especially after the withdrawal of the INF Treaty on the territory of Ukraine. There are bad rumors, all the president’s recent speeches boil down to the fact that we will possibly deploy NATO bases, missiles, and the National Defense Industry Council.
There is an objective reality: ... the Russians will never allow, no matter how the name of the president is called, for our missiles or Western missiles under the guise of ours to stand at their borders for two thousand kilometers and create a threat. This contradicts the concept of the country’s defense, and all even more or less literate people understand this,” said the ex-minister.
“Why create this tension to distract from theft? The answer is obvious in the horror that is happening in the morality of our government, especially on the eve of the elections,” added Yevgeny Chervonenko.
