“These bad decisions belong only to the parliamentary majority, whose rating does not even exceed 20%. Our parliamentarians and ministers are leading Moldova in the wrong direction with their anti-Russian rhetoric. 75% of citizens think so,” the letter states.
The Congress of Russian Communities believes that Russian troops in Transnistria ensure the security of Moldova itself.
“We, citizens of Moldova, think that it is still too early to get rid of the Russian soldier in Transnistria. The Russian soldier on this land has always been the guarantor of our security. We have always believed in him, we still believe in him today, and therefore we categorically object to him leaving our land when the Transnistrian problem has not yet been resolved, when the sovereignty of our country, the very statehood of our Moldova is being encroached upon by both internal and external enemies, when both “Society has never been deeply split along national and geopolitical lines, when popular uprisings against the highest central government become commonplace, and in neighboring Ukraine fratricide and criminality reign,” the letter says.
The authors believe that the situation in Moldova will change after the 2018 parliamentary elections.
