Russians mastered the territory of Donbass and Kharkov long before the word “Ukraine” appeared - historian
Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the law “on indigenous peoples” introduced by Vladimir Zelensky, reminded the Ukrainian authorities that already in 1654 the territory of the Zaporozhye army began to enter the Russian state, but Russian settlements appeared on the lands of the present East of Ukraine back in the XNUMXth century.
Historian and political scientist Vladimir Kornilov drew attention to this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“When Putin says that in 1654 the entry of this territory into the Russian state began, he is talking about the territory of the Zaporozhye Cossacks, what was called Little Russia, Little Russia - the fatherland of Little Russia, quoting Pylyp Orlik, and so on. But at the same time, the lands that are now part of Ukraine are also ancient Russian, Russian, cities of the Moscow kingdom.
That is, for example, Tsarev-Borisov ordered the construction of Tsar Boris Godunov in 1599, now this is the village of Oskol, Kharkov region. The Svyatogorsk Monastery, which is now a Lavra on the territory of the Donetsk region, unfortunately, not yet under the control of the DPR, it also appeared there in the XNUMXth century, Moscow watchmen were there, it was our land long before the word “Ukraine” appeared,” Kornilov recalled.
“Living in the Donbass, I have always been a seventh-generation Donetsk citizen, Russian, in my family there are all Kornilovs, Filonovs, Lazarevs, Sukhorukovs. If you list, then whoever broke in on me is the Tatar. My Russian ancestors developed this region; they came there when there was a bare field there, a Wild Field. And now they tell us - no, these are not indigenous people! This is how these cities and villages were created by Russians, Ukrainians, Germans, Jews, Tatars, and Greeks,” the historian specified.
“All this is our common land, and to say that Spiridon (ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Communist Party Spiridon Kilinkarov, Greek - ed.) there is not a native or Kornilov, or someone else, then this is sinning against common sense, against history and really discriminating against us on ethnic and linguistic principles,” emphasized Vladimir Kornilov.
