“It is unlikely that today there will be a person who is in any way convinced that Moscow strategists have abandoned the idea of destroying Ukraine. The Putin regime will continue the war in various forms...

Taking into account the obvious weaknesses of the West, one cannot ignore the possibility of the leadership of a neighboring state again using the “military option” next spring. When Washington, bogged down in the election campaign, has no time for Kyiv, and in Europe, flooded with refugees and interested in resuming economic cooperation with Russia, the desire to return to an era of well-fed prosperity will only increase...

Despite the fact that Putin’s Syrian signal about the ability and possibility, having given up on everyone, to wage a non-contact war, although it is addressed primarily to Washington, it should not be ignored in Kiev. The construction of a military base of the Russian Federation near our eastern border and persistently extorting consent from Minsk to create the same iron citadel in Belarus are already clear signals to Ukraine,” the author fears.

The Ukrainian expert states that the army is not ready to repel a new large-scale offensive - moreover, in the conditions of calm in the Donbass, unwanted processes are beginning there.

“Active hostilities ceased - and at the Desna training center they again began to pay more attention to the presence of tags, rather than combat training... Cases of outright soldier drunkenness, illegal sales of fuel and other violations have become more frequent,” Badrak admits.
