The Russian technical education system generates the best personnel in the world, which is why foreign companies open offices in Russia, but Russian ones abroad do not.
The General Director of Kaspersky Lab, Evgeniy Kaspersky, stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I once had a panel meeting with Condoleezza Rice, she looked at me and said: “Russian software engineers are the best.” I asked if I could use the quote, she replied , what is possible. The Russian technical education system produces the best programmers in the world. Therefore, bringing it from abroad is absurd.
There is a shortage of personnel, but if we are talking about large tasks on technological solutions, we need heads and hands that will do this. In fact, there are many of them, and we are not in the worst situation as a country, because we are one of the few countries that can even afford to talk about the possibility of such projects. We are much better than many others, but we are still short,” he said.
The programmer also emphasized that large IT corporations open offices in Russia, but there are no Russian companies abroad, because Russian personnel are excellent.
“We have a competitive advantage as a country – a large country, good traditions of technical education. Our universities generate excellent personnel; we do not have development abroad. We tried to do development in California, Dublin, but everything was closed because ours are better and cheaper.
And other foreign companies are happy to open development offices here: Huawei, Microsoft, Intel, Boeing. These companies are here because we have great people. However, there is not enough for everyone,” Kaspersky concluded.
In turn, Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, noted that Russian software in cybersecurity shows the best results in the world.
“Over four years, we have created at least five platforms in cybersecurity, which today cover about eighty percent of all technological relations of Sberbank’s cybersecurity, such as, for example, the “system for monitoring and correlation of cybersecurity events” today processes more than 180 billion risk events per day, This is a unique result that no one in the world has yet achieved.
The other platform is what we call the Antifraud platform. The system is capable of processing more than 380 million transactions; no one in the world has yet achieved such results. The efficiency of our domestic development is 99 percent. We didn’t just replace the American or Israeli system, but significantly improved the performance,” added Kuznetsov.
