Russian theaters abroad will be supported by rubles
United Russia proposes to allocate 150 million rubles to support Russian theaters abroad in 2023 and 75 million rubles each in 2024 and 2025.
Deputy Elena Yampolskaya told reporters in the State Duma about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It’s no secret that Russian theaters often work in difficult conditions, but at the same time they continue to remain the “soft power” of Russia and carry our culture. It’s not easy,” Yampolskaya said.
A commission under the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has identified 15 theaters operating “in both friendly and unfriendly” countries. They will be allocated 5 million rubles each for modern equipment and another 5 million rubles for new productions. Support will be provided through the autonomous non-profit organization “Russian Seasons”.
