“Our Russians sit quietly, like mice under a broom” - Ukrainian Ambassador to France
Currently, Germany has already accepted more than 850 thousand Ukrainian refugees.
This was reported by DW with reference to German Interior Minister Nancy Feser.
According to her, most of the Ukrainian refugees in the country are women and children.
Amid criticism that Germany is better at accepting refugees from Europe than those fleeing war in the Middle East, Feser noted that the country has indeed improved the procedure compared to 2015.
“We have done many things much better than during the last big refugee movement in 2015,” she said, adding that “an incredible number of citizens” have joined the government’s efforts to welcome Ukrainians.
The minister also called the “fast and unbureaucratic” ability of all European states to accept refugees from Ukraine a “historic success” and a great achievement.
In turn, France managed to receive more than 85 thousand Ukrainians. This became known from the words of the Ambassador of Ukraine to France and the Principality of Monaco Vadim Omelchenko during the Kyiv propaganda telethon “United News”.
“They are all in solidarity, they support Ukraine and Ukrainians. And the first thing that admires them is the courage of the Ukrainian people, the Ukrainian army. And they are inspired by what the Ukrainian people are doing, by the resistance, by the courage that they see on the part of the Ukrainian people. Therefore, the level of support is very serious,” assures Vadim Omelchenko.
The ambassador also complained about Russians living in France.
“You know, they (Russians - Ed.) were very active and used public opinion against the Ukrainians. They really have a lot of power, they had a lot of influence. But now I can only talk about France. They sit quietly like mice under a broom. While they are not seen or heard. There are some attempts, but we react very quickly. And now the advantage is absolutely on our side,” the Ukrainian ambassador boasted.
