This is confirmed by the CNN channel with reference to former and current high-ranking US intelligence officials, a Politnavigator correspondent reports.
Sources told the station that "since the November election, U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies have detected an increase in suspected Russian intelligence operatives entering the United States under the guise of other activities."
They noted that “currently about 150 Russians are suspected of intelligence activities in the United States.” “The Russians are adding to their ranks after US authorities expelled 35 diplomats last December,” the sources added.
According to former CIA official Steve Hall, "Russian spies may be looking for more information about the new Donald Trump administration, as it remains unpredictable."
“The concern among law enforcement officials is that Russian spies are targeting people in the United States who can provide access to classified information,” the channel reports.
The FBI declined to comment to CNN on this information.
