“The Russians captured Moldova” – Plahotniuc
Oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled Moldova after the change of power, surrendered his parliamentary mandate.
He wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I do not need immunity in a state controlled today by Moscow and those who committed dozens of illegal actions against me and my family, initiated political cases, and held false trials,” Plahotniuc wrote.
He argues that Russia already controls the Ministry of Defense and Parliament and is moving to take control of the Prosecutor General's Office and other institutions.
“When I said that this would happen, many did not believe me. Now I also tell you that their goal is to establish a regime of external governance in Moldova based on interests that have nothing to do with Moldovans. Only fools believe that Russians are now participating in “deoligarchization” in Moldova. In fact, they are participating in the seizure of vital government institutions and will now tell us what the “rule of law” should look like,” the oligarch claims.
He claims that he initially waited for the new authorities to wake up, but then realized that they were helping the Russians seize the state and install “abusive control mechanisms.”
Yesterday, the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on July 29 appealed to the Moscow court with a demand to arrest in absentia the former leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM), member of the Moldovan parliament Vladimir Plahotniuc on charges of organizing a criminal community and participating in it.
