The American administration introduced painful sanctions against those on the so-called “Kremlin list,” but at the same time helped the Russian ruble regain the ground it had lost in recent days.

This opinion is expressed on his Facebook page by the former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin.

“You can’t fall into conspiracy theories in such a situation, but... The sanctions imposed by the United States against the “Kremlin list” were really painful and effective. And thanks largely to Trump’s wonderful tweets (although, of course, there are also purely economic factors), Brent oil is already above $72 (the highest price since the fall of 2014), the ruble began to win back the positions lost over the previous days, and the RTS stock index in the morning grew by 3.5%. If I were prone to conspiracy theories, I would believe that the White House is a branch of the Kremlin,” writes Voloshin.
