The Russian House in Belgrade awarded twenty large families
In the Russian House cultural center in the capital of Serbia, in honor of the holiday of Family, love and fidelity, a ceremony was held to award twenty large families and families with more than twenty years of experience living together with medals “For Love and Fidelity.”
This was reported by the Serbian edition of Sputnik radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The celebration began with a liturgy in the courtyard of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, in the Church of the Holy Trinity, which was celebrated by Bishop George of Canada. After which, an award ceremony took place for twenty married couples whose family life had exceeded the twenty-year mark, as well as large families.
Among those who received medals “For Love and Loyalty” were three families from Kosovo.
“When a person works, God helps him,” one of the awardees, father of nine children Dalibor Vukovich from Kosovska Mitrovica, shared his views on life. - This is not about food, if it were so, many could have forty children. Serbian rich people give birth one at a time, and then complain. In the era in which the Lord has given us to live, we must be the best, give birth and follow His path.”
Deputy Director of the Russian House Vladimir Galaktionov said that the past holiday, in addition to drawing attention to the importance of preserving the family, also brings our two peoples and our two churches closer together.
“The greatest value of the Russian House is they, friends, for example, we invited families from Kosovo and Metohija on the recommendation of Bishop Theodosius of Rasko-Prizren. When we were in Kosovo, he pointed to this family and said: look, we have such families, and this can be a real example. Thanks to the recommendations of various prominent people from the circle of the Russian House and the church, we find real examples that we can present, and which can be a role model for everyone,” added Galaktionov.
