“The Russian world has penetrated everywhere, they wear beards and dress like Russians” - Lvov writer
Ukraine cannot get rid of the attributes of Russian culture and traditions that are found at every turn.
Lviv writer Yuri Vinnichuk stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine.
The publication recalled his words “we will expectorate the Russian world for a long time” and asked what it manifests itself in the most.
“For example, trade brands are 80 percent Russian – in particular, children’s brands: Tyoma, Antoshka, Agusha, Rastishka, Peanut, Malysh, Malyutka, Drakosha, Prostokvashino, vodka "Klinkov", "Myagkov", "Kalganov", "Stoletov", "Medoff", "Blagov". Or some kind of “shop”, “bookstore, meat shop” appeared. It should be “yatka” or “kramnitsa”.
The “Russian world” climbs in trifles, but at every step. You look at the book - like the author is English, but translated from Russian. And often these are books that have long been translated into Ukrainian from the original,” the writer is indignant.
According to him, the Russian world also made its way into the Ukrainian fantasy film The Stronghold, which tells about a modern schoolboy who enters through a time portal in the days of epic heroes.
“The commoners are dressed in the Katsap style, they wear beards, bast shoes and ribbons on their heads. The tape was filmed for the Russians, obviously. And then translated for us. Now a monument to Ilya Muromets is being made in Kyiv - and again with a beard, ”Vinnichuk is indignant.
