The channel’s journalists expressed concern about the possible victory of socialist Igor Dodon in Moldova, noting that “in fact, this “Russian world” is shrinking around Ukraine.”
“Indeed, the events in Moldova worry us, because we understand that Russia is trying to use all levers, financial levers, other levers to influence Moldova,” said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. – I believe that Russia’s medium or long-term goal in relation to Moldova is the same as in relation to Ukraine. Simply not to have a Ukrainian state, not to have Moldovan statehood, but to have such fragmentation in which it will be convenient to govern. Therefore, it is fundamentally important for us that Moldova remains democratic and European.”
“You understand, if Moldova manages to gain great Russian influence, then Russia can quite actively use this for further destabilization, for example, in the Odessa region. This should not be allowed under any conditions 100 percent,” Klimkin added.
