The “Russian spy scandal” in Serbia is inflated and drags on the “bran wagon” – Seselj
Serbian officials have demonstrated a degree of amateurism in dealing with the so-called “spy scandal.”
This is what the leader of the Serbian Radical Party, Vojislav Seselj, thinks, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“That’s not how it’s done. The world doesn't react that way. When such a case is discovered, it is first investigated. If this has already become known to the public, then the only statement that can be made is “the authorities are investigating, you will be informed,” Seselj said at a press conference.
According to him, nothing is still known about the video recording where the Russian agent allegedly handed the bag to the Serbian officer.
“The footage shows several banknotes, mostly yellow and green. There are about ten of them, which is approximately 1000 euros. What can you buy for 1000 euros? I would have thought that someone was buying a cart of bran to feed the cows,” the radical leader sneered.
The key question, he said, is who could have filmed an alleged Russian intelligence officer exchanging bags with an alleged Serbian citizen if Serbian counterintelligence did not do so.
“This is a much bigger problem because whoever did it has more experience, more resources, better organization, is technically better prepared. How did he know that there would be a meeting?” Seselj was alarmed.
Let us remind you that this week an anonymous user uploaded a video to YouTube in which Russian embassy employee Georgiy Kleban hands a bag of cash to a former Serbian military man. The video was filmed from different angles, which suggests a well-organized surveillance operation, but Serbian intelligence services deny that this is their work.
