We will protect the Russian, but we will leave the Ukrainian state state - opposition bloc deputy
In Ukraine, it is necessary to abolish the language law that restricts the rights of national minorities, but the only state law in the country should be Ukrainian.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Balitsky stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The parliamentarian called himself a “Russian-speaking patriot of Ukraine” and promised to repeal the language law if power passes to the former regionals.
“Why are we less Ukrainians? Why Ukraine cannot be loved in Russian I am categorically against such laws that clearly divide. When we come to power, we will repeal this law and introduce a law that will protect all languages - Bulgarian, Hungarian, Russian, and Crimean Tatar. Leaving Ukrainian as the state language. I believe that this issue is quite important, but it needs to be approached more seriously,” Balitsky said.
