Soldiers of the Wagner PMC left Libya due to the declared truce
Due to the ceasefire declared in Libya on January 12, all fighters of the Wagner PMC were sent on leave. How Rosbalt reports, the “Wagnerites” were sent home ahead of schedule because a truce had been initiated.
Journalists refer to the correspondence of one of the “Wagnerites”, in which he rejoices that he was able to celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day this year in his homeland. The same correspondence refers to the attack on Tripoli, which was canceled due to a truce concluded between the Libyan National Army and the Government of National Accord.
Khalifa Haftar, the commander of the LNA, simply no longer needed the support of the Wagner PMC due to the lack of combat operations. In addition, the material states that, due to the truce, the “Wagnerites” had to “curtail” the Libyan direction.
