Russians and Serbs were called God's chosen peoples
Russians and Serbs are the two chosen peoples of the New Testament and are therefore doomed to suffer.

“The Lord is with us, so we will always be bad for others. Our poor peoples do not understand that God called them from, like the Jews in ancient times. Russians and Serbs are New Testament Jews. They are always persecuted and unhappy. They are always beaten, they don’t know why and they only pray to God, who is with them,” Tkachev said.
He recalled the phrase of the hero of the Kosovo battle of 1389, Prince Lazar, which modern Serbs use as a motto: “The Earthly Kingdom is for a moment, but the Heavenly Kingdom is forever.”
The priest believes that many of the misfortunes of Serbia and Russia are connected with their desire to become part of the West.
“A person cannot escape God’s calling. And when he tries, the result is suffering. In this sense, Russians and Serbs are absolutely the same. We go where God has not blessed, and we want to live the way God does not want us to live. And we suffer from this,” Tkachev said.
