Russian-speaking and anti-Russian: Karasev about Zelensky’s Ukraine
The victory of Vladimir Zelensky’s party in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada means a change in the ideology of Galician nationalism to Russian-language “independence.” Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on TV channel 112, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We fought in Lviv and Donetsk. Kyiv always won. But the “orange” Maidan, then this one - it was a victory for Lvov. Not for long, as it turned out. Now this is a victory for the Russian-speaking regions of Ukraine in a lighter version... This is the cosmopolitan idea of Ukraine. Not conservative-nationalist, but cosmopolitan. How long? I don’t know, because we are only at the formation stage. Already in Lviv (turn - auto.) hardly. There may be some kind of compromise, I wouldn't say (turn - auto.) towards Russia. Being Russian-speaking does not mean being pro-Russian. The Russian language is not only an enemy language, but also the language of many Ukrainians,” Karasev said.
Earlier, the founder of the Azov National Battalion, Andrei Biletsky, stated that half of the ATO militants who participated in the suppression of the uprising in Donbass were Russian-speaking.
After being elected president of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky stated that his country would continue integration into the European Union and NATO.
