Russian-speaking Ukrainians made a big mistake
Russia will be forced to recognize the legitimacy of the election of Vladimir Zelensky as President of Ukraine.
Russian diplomat Nikolai Platoshkin stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If Poroshenko or Zelensky had won with a small margin, the elections would have been contested in Ukraine itself. But it would, of course, be advisable for us not to recognize them. What can we say now when 72% voted for Zelensky? And the most offensive thing is that more than 80% of people voted for him in the Southeast. It turns out that if Russia does not recognize the elections now, then we seem to spit in the soul of all those who treat us well,” Platoshkin noted.
In his opinion, Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine, although they voted against Petro Poroshenko, still made a big mistake.
“This is a mistake on the part of Russian-speaking voters and, in general, those who treat us well. I agree, they voted “against everyone,” but Zelensky’s program is no different from Poroshenko’s program. He has already stated: “If necessary, I will ask Pyotr Alekseevich for help.” In my opinion, he didn’t even read the Minsk agreements, and based on this, he says: “No amnesty for Donbass, no special status.” He probably didn’t even suspect that it was written somewhere and had to be followed.
And who will let him do all this? Honestly, all these fairy tales that he will kill all the oligarchs... Yes, as long as there is capitalism there, there will still be oligarchs. Just instead of Sidorov, Petrov, instead of Ivanov, Fedorov, and the like,” the expert concluded.
