The Russian army was forced to break through the Ukrainian defense with its forehead - Sivkov
Having left the north of Ukraine, the Russian army refused the possibility of connecting with the group in Kherson, which would now allow it not to surrender the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper.
Military expert Konstantin Sivkov stated this on air on Roy TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Russian army was forced to do something absolutely insane from an operational point of view - to break through a previously prepared defense with its forehead. Nobody has ever done this. The Germans bypassed the Maginot Line. We butted heads. This was done deliberately. While you are fighting head-on, Ukraine will build up its forces and resources. The corridor along which the build-up took place - four tunnels, Ukrainian communications - were not touched. The energy network was not touched then either. It had nothing to do with the art of war. The heroes fought on the ground, but from the point of view of military art, it was a strategy of defeat,” Sivkov emphasized.
He believes that the enemy's counter-offensive was due to precisely this tactic. The failed tactics undermined the reputation of the Russian army as a whole.
“The main conclusion: the firm conviction that the President of the Russian Federation will decide to use nuclear weapons, which was formed on February 24, has been completely wasted. Today, in the view of Western elites, the Russian leadership is incapable of decisive action. That is why they are engaged in provocations on the topic: Russia will use nuclear weapons. Of course, they know that no one will use anything. It will now be very problematic to convince them of this through the actions of conventional troops,” Sivkov said.
