The “Russian community of Sevastopol” is being evicted from its headquarters
The public organization “Russian Community of Sevastopol” is being evicted from two premises of the Black Sea Fleet, which it has occupied since Ukrainian times.
Community leader Tatyana Ermakova told PolitNavigator about this.
“In 2011, the renovation of the Vladimir Cathedral began, in which the Russian community participated. It was necessary to restore the upper and lower tiers of the iconostasis. Our people joined in - Elena Karpova with her mother and father. Three meter icons. They had to be placed somewhere. And then Commander Fedotenko gave us a small white house next to the burnt billiard room on Matrossky Boulevard. We repaired it. It was the Russian Spring, and there they were painting.
Shoigu came to the opening of the cathedral and was very pleased. Until 2017, there was an icon painting studio in the house; Lena taught children for free. But then an officer from headquarters noticed our house, and it all started. I called the Ministry of Defense and shouted: I will gather people. But I was ashamed to tell the guys: “Let’s go defend this house.” Because I dragged these guys at night to Genichensk and Kherson to defend the lighthouses of the Black Sea Fleet. And now this Black Sea Fleet is taking away our house. No one was embarrassed that the icons were there, they just demanded: give up the house. We left in February. Children stopped studying, and on TV they shout: patriotism, culture,” Ermakova complains.
According to her, this is not the only premises that the Russian Community will lose.
“On Minnaya we had a premises registered as an individual entrepreneur. The Russian community could not register itself because we always stood for the Black Sea Fleet and Russia. The SBU constantly took me from home, there were constant courts. Our headquarters, as we called it, was located there. There were trainings with children. The SBU was pushing very hard and wanted to take this house away from us and build a tavern. We constantly turned to the Black Sea Fleet. I asked: take this building. There is even a document where the Black Sea Fleet replies that it has never had such a building. Indeed, this is a ship repair yard. But now they are going to court without having documents for him. And we invested money in it...
I look at them: guys, I stood for you faithfully. I remember the call at five in the morning: Tatyana Alexandrovna, Bandera’s men attacked us. Five students came there to work, spend half a day at sea, and then they will come, lie down in a tent and shout: down with the Black Sea Fleet. And my women stood there, fainting. How it hit my nerves: what will happen to the Black Sea Fleet. And now we don’t understand what the fleet we stood for is doing to us,” Ermakova is offended.
