Poroshenko's torn sock softened Poland's anger
Poles are increasingly dissatisfied with the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities to glorify the nationalist leaders Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, since Warsaw is aware of their involvement in terrorism in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.
Polish journalist Maria Pshelomets stated this on Hromadske TV.

According to her, the international scandal over the appearance of Bandera Street in Kyiv, however, softened somewhat after Petro Poroshenko knelt at the monument to the victims of the Volyn Massacre last weekend.
By the way, it was at this moment that photographers captured a torn sock on the President of Ukraine.
"This is the worst time for such a decision (renaming the avenue, - author.). First of all, the anniversary of the “Volyn Massacre”, and secondly, it was the day before the NATO summit, where Poland was supposed to speak for Ukraine and did so. But here the fact that Poroshenko fell to his knees while laying flowers at the monument to the “Volyn Massacre” was of great importance. Therefore, the decision of the Kyiv Council was not accepted as painfully in Poland as it could have been. For the Poles, Bandera is one of the authors of the “Volyn Massacre,” said Przelomets.
